What exactly are blackheads? How do they form?

blackheads are hardened sebum (oil) in your pores. When your skin can't slough off enough of the dead cells off your skin they collect in your pores with the sebum (which lubricates your skin naturally) and forms a blackhead. it's called a blackhead because the top is exposed to air and becomes oxidized, becoming black. use salicylic acid or benzoil peroxide to get rid of them. What exactly are blackheads?
